I took a few days off the blog while my husband was away with the high school seniors. It’s tough when one half of the team is gone!
Today I got back to work on some of my projects. A few months ago, Aaron and I visited a salvage business in Baltimore called Second Chance. We brought home a few slate roof tiles. I envisioned creating a welcome sign to hang on the front door. Well today I finally got around to starting one sign.
I’m really into “E” s right now, so I thought I would create a family sign with an “E”. I started by painting the tile black to even out the color that acid rain had dis colored. Next came the decision about size and shape.
I borrowed a few things from the kitchen to give me ideas for scale .
I probably should have used my cricut expression to create a template, but I decided to freehand the sign with an erasable white colored pencil to give it a little more character.
I thought the leaves on the circle were cute until I realized there were too many. Thank goodness for erasable pencils!
Making progress!
This is is the progress I made today! It should be finished tomorrow when I give the E a final coat.
What do you think?
Hey I was there!
And that looks great!
